Black Leopards are a South African football (soccer) club based in Polokwane, Limpopo. The club was founded in 1983 by business people in Venda in the Limpopo Province of South Africa.
In 1998, the club was taken over by the Thidiela family. After just two seasons of campaigning in the National First Division, Black Leopards were promoted to the elite division of the country. They were relegated to the First Division in 2008 after seven seasons in the Premiership, and returned to the big time in the previous 2011-12 season.
It is interesting to see the positions that the team has finished under in previous years of the Absa Premier Soccer League. The highest finish the team has recorded is 8th in the 2003/2004 season and the lowest was 15th when the team got relegated in the 2007/2008 season.
The team has been led by some of the best coaches that ever existed in South Africa, with names like Gavin Hunt, Mlungisi Ngubane, Bibey Mutombo, Ephraim Mashaba, current coach Sunday Chidzambwa and many more.

The highest victory the team has ever recorded was a 7-1 victory against Bush Bucks back in 2002. On the opposite side the worst loss the team ever suffered was a 5-0 loss against Kaizer Chiefs back in 2003.
The team has come a long way since then and they are looking a much better outfit since the team has ever existed. Lidoda Duvha is still in the PSL for the next coming season 2012/2013, and with the new sponsor KAPPA the team is competing all the way in Africa for the CAF Confederations Cup. This indicates how developed the club has become and from here on it is only forward to World Class status by all means.
