Black Leopards will be looking for their first points of the 2011/12 Absa Premiership season and will be targeting a positive result when they host Golden Arrows.
The match will take place at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday evening, kick-off at 19h30.
This match against second-from-bottom Arrows offers Leopards a good opportunity to claim three points and get their season up and running.
Abafana Bes’thende, like their hosts for this match, have suffered two defeats in their opening matches: 3-0 at home to Bloemfontein Celtic and 2-1 away to SuperSport United.
In head-to-head stats, Leopards and Arrows have met in 14 league games since 2001/02. The KwaZulu-Natal team have won six times compared to three for Leopards.
However, Lidoda Duvha have a good home record against Abafana Bes’thende, having been beaten just once by their fellow MTN-sponsored team in a league game on home soil.
This will be the teams’ first meeting since the 2007/08 season when Leopards were relegated. In that campaign Arrows took four points off Lidoda Duvha, winning 1-0 in KwaZulu-Natal and drawing 0-0 in the return game in Limpopo.
