Black Leopards might have lost more matches than they have won playing in the Peter Mokaba Stadium, having lost and drew in 9 of their home games with just 2 wins.

Many might think that the team lacks luck when playing in the venue (Peter Mokaba) as the results are different when the team hosts opponents in Giyani. Without doubt and to ease much speculations of the team ditching the stadium, Blackleopards.com (the club official website) have got in touch with PR and Communications manager Tendani Thidiela who assures fans that the vicinity is definitely the teams home ground.

“Look people think just because the team has not had highlights at Mokaba we want to disown the venue, which is not true. We respect the Stadium and without any stuttering it is our home ground.

“This is a world class stadium and we are proud to call it our home ground. Compared to Giyani one may see that we win most matches when we play in Giyani, that is mutually because we are a Limpopo team and have a huge fan base when we play in Giyani. This is no reason to state that there is something wrong with Peter Mokaba Stadium,” says Tendani.

For a team to perform at its utmost best is when there is a 12^th man in the form of supporters and Lidoda Duvha paints the stands black and yellow when they play in Giyani. This is more reason for the team to play some of the home games there as opposed to Peter  Mokaba.

“Giyani is our alternative venue and we like playing there because the fans come in numbers and we feel at home. Just like we feel warm at Peter Mokaba Stadium hence it is the representative venue of our PSL status,” cited the communications manager.

“In addition one may also keep in mind that our supporters travel 80km to get to Venda as compared to 40km to Giyani. These are some of the reasons that play part in deciding to play more games in Giyani. But excuses aside we will have to improve our performance to attract the crowds to Peter Mokaba which is part of the plans from now onto the next seasons.

Be assured that the venue is not much of an issue as Leopards will still perform at any place as they are proving with an impressive fighting spirit to stay in the elite league. The team is just one place away from relegation and in the following matches watch out for the Limpopo outfit to better that standing.
