Black Leopards suffered defeat in their opening second round fixture as they went down 3-1 to SuperSport United at the Super Stadium in Pretoria on Wednesday night.

Goalkeeper Dennis Onyango scored his first goal for SuperSport United as 'Matsatsantsa a Pitori' beat Black Leopards 3-1 in an Absa Premiership match at Super Stadium on Wednesday night.

'Lidoda Duvha' were the first to threaten United goals in the 14th minute when Myron Shongwe connected well with Fischer Kondowe's free-kick, but his header was saved by Dennis Onyango.

United taught they had taken the lead two minutes later, only for Elias Pelembe's shot to be ruled offside, but 'Matsatsantsa a Pitori' did not have to wait long for their opening goal as Fikru Tefera tapped in Daine Klate's cross.

Klate turned finisher in the 29th minute when he scored from a Pelembe's cross to double United's lead.

Mulondo Sikhwivhilu pulled one for Leopards in the 39th minute to make sure that 'Lidoda Duvha' go into the half-time break with a goal.

United continued to pile on the pressure on Leopards in the second half and they twice came close to scoring, but they found Leopards 'keeper Mashudu Mamphitha in an uncompromising mood, as he produced two brilliant saves to deny Sibonisso Gaxa and Pelembe.

Walter Ramulondi almost grabbed 'Lidoda Duvha's equaliser in the 77th minute, but his shot was saved by Onyango.

There was to be drama in the dying minutes when Mamphitha took a long kick that reached Onyango and the United goalkeeper saw that Mamphitha was off his line, he inturn took a brilliant long range shot that beat Mamphitha, for his first goal for United.

It was game set and won for United as Leopards failed to recover from that sucker punch.
