Goals from Myron Shongwe and Thabiso Hlalele sealed Cosmos' fate and now 'Ezenkosi' will campaign in the first division next season for the first time since the inception of the Premier Soccer League.
The under-pressure Cosmos made their intentions clear in as early as the sixth minute when Bamuza Sono shot powerfully at goal, but his shot was saved by Leopards 'keeper Efraim Tjihonge.
Sono tried a long-range shot three minutes later, but his shot went over the crossbar as 'Ezenkosi' continued to pile pressure on the visitors.
It was 'Lidoda Duvha' though who took the lead in the 18th minute through Shongwe, who headed in David Makgale's cross.
Cosmos were presented with an opportunity to grab the equaliser in the 36th minute when Peter Mponda fouled Reneilwe Letsholonyane just outside the 18-yard box, but Tjihonge did well to punch away Sono's shot from the subsequent free-kick.
Cosmos were, however, reduced to ten men in the 41st minute when Nkosinathi Nhleko was given his marching orders for a bad foul on Kaizer Montsi.
'Lidoda Duvha' quickly utilised their one-man advantage and soon doubled their lead through Hlalele on the stroke of half-time.
Cosmos never really recovered from this sucker punch before the break. The second half also failed to yield any results for Jomo Sono's team, who now find themselves having to compete in the first division next season.
