MTN stays put with Leopards

After being relegated from the Premier Soccer League (PSL) at the end of last season Black Leopards are looking for an immediate return to the elite league.

With cellphone giants MTN showing confidence in the team and still backing them, Leopards have vowed to go all out to repay the confidence showed by the cell-phone network company.

Leopards boss David Thidiela was full of praise for MTN saying he never had doubts that they would renew their relationship with the club.

Thidiela said the cellphone company has been loyal to the club and was thankful that they would still back them in the National First Division.

"They are like a family to me because we treat each other with respect. We would not be where we are today had it not been for MTN and I thank them for all the things they have done for this club," said the excited Thidiela.

He, however, said the club has also helped to market the MTN brand in the province and fulfilled its contractual obligations of enhancing their footprints in Limpopo.

"It has been a two-way relationship which both parties were happy about. Their involvement would make life much easier for us in the first division because without financial backers it is not easy campaigning down there. I am confident with the help of our sponsors we will be back in the the PSL before very long."

Thidiela said he was looking forward to the new season with hope that things would turn out the way they planned them.
